250325 | The finished bag with straps.

A sewing project to improve a kitbag.

This bag is durable and sturdy, but because of it's build painful to carry for more than a few minutes. To aleviate the issue, I sewed second-hand belt straps onto the kitbag using a stitching awl and strong, waxed yarn.

Pinning the straps with needles helps with positioning and keeping them in place while sewing.
Marking the puncture points before sewing makes cleaner stitches.
